What's up? I currently have 20's on mine but i did once have 22's. The only concern with a larger wheel is that nasty bolt at the top of the wheel. I shaved off the bolt to accomodate my 22's and it was still wearing into my tire some.
When I first got my RT I too wanted to close off the top gap between the tire and the well. I thought that by getting a larger diameter wheel I would achieve this but I soon found out it did'nt make a difference.
I then invested in a set of Eibach Pro-kit Series lowering springs. Approx. 1.0" to 1.5" lower. They do make a set of Sportline Series springs that is more extreme (i think about 1.7" - 2.3"). The sport series will almost put the top of your tire into the well.

You will have to be very careful around driveways and speed bumps with those.
I can get over most of the obstacles with the Pro Springs by slowing to an almost crawl speed.
