Default Putting 22's on Charger R/T

I'll be putting an order for some 22 inch rims hopefully within the next few week's. Can anyone tell me how much performance im gonna lose. I imagine I would lose alot of performance, but do you think it would be a huge amount? These are the rims im planning on getting

http://www.custom-wheels-car-rims.co...ShowLarge=True

I also heard that if i get those rims i will have to fix my speedometer or whatever it's called because the rim's will cause it to read incorrectly, and they say I will also need bigger brakes. So can anyone help me out with some of my questions? Oh, those rim's come with Pirrelli Scorpion tires they're supposed to be good. Any help or info is appreaciated.

I can't comment on how soft or hard the ride will be but you should lose any performance. It all depends on the tread you plan on using.

As far as the speedo is concerned as log as you don't change the overall diameter/circumference of the new tires compared to the originals your speedo should read the same. You only have to worry if the new tires are smaller or larger in overall diameter/circumference than the stock ones that came with the vehicle. The size of the rims shouldn't matter.

Actually there is almost always a performance loss, acceleration that is, when you go to a larger rim. The increased diameter rim weighs more than an equivalent smaller rim with a taller tire. Metal weighs more than air filled rubber basicly. Unsprung weight will always lower your performance. Also rim design and construction makes a huge difference. Many of the new 20+" chrome bling bling monsters are a softer compound and need more metal than a high cost forged aluminum counterpart. You might end up with a suprise also if you drive hard. I've seen an awful lot of ruined cheap rims due to the low profile tires that are so prevalent today with these rims. As for the ride, you will absolutely end up with a harder ride. You are going to be losing a lot of cushion just from the decreased sidewall and that isn't even considering the much higher tire pressures you are going to need to hold up a car of this weight with 40 series tires, or whatever you end up with.

Why would you want to unbalance what to me is a very well balanced combination of ride, handling and noise. Anytime you change the rims, from factory specifications, you are asking for trouble. The factory rims have a very specific offset and diameter. This combination took thousands of hours of proving over a variety of road and weather conditions. What appears to be a simple change most likely will change the handling for the worse. Onboard systems like the EPS, will all of a sudden be "out of calibration" they will not respond correctly to the incorrect input from the multiple G-Force and Yaw sensors. The worst case is that your car could become dangerous to drive. Panic situations could turn deadly, where as an unmodified car might have proved safe.

Think twice before you make a possible costly mistake.

Oh, sorry i've been pretty busy lately. Yes I did get the rims and let me tell you my car looks great. I decided to save some money for some differen't mods for later on so I went with some Tezzen's they look great in my oppinion. (http://www.custom-wheels-car-rims.co...ShowLarge=True)
The tire's are 35's. If any one would like to see my car give me a way to post it or e-mail address and i'll send you a pic, either that or wait a while because i'll be creating a webpage on cardomain.com. I had no installation issues because I had them install them for me (they offered free installation). Ride and handling are still really good not much change. Only issue I have is that 22 inch rim's kind of take some of the power away. It's a bit slower off the line but not by much I can still destroy most car's outthere. As far as the tire pressure sensor's go, the guy's down at the shop removed them and configured them to work with my new tire's so they should be working fine, at least that's what they told me. I'll have my local Dodge dealer check them out when I go in and ask about installing a Nav system in my car. Anyone know about how much it'll cost?
