I have a 2004 4.7 and am looking for feedback on cold air intake, should I go with K&N or is there another brand that is better? If so which one and who has the best prices online for the system.
I went with the Aircharger instead of the FIPK.
The best online price I could find was at http://www.4filters.com/
Around town my mpg went up from about 14 to about 16, can't say about the highway though but I would expect a simliar increase.

this is what i did to my dakota w/ 4.7, just go down to autozone and but one 90* elbow and a 4" extension(spectre products) and buy any air filter w/ a 3" inlet and you have an intake

I did see your air intake mod Kikoy only thing is I really want "Cold Air" the way you made yours it is going to be sucking in all the super hot air strait off the radiator.
Also I need it to be "Legal" in California ie EPA certified.
If you don't want to spend a lot of $$$ then I would suggest just buying a K&N drop-in filter. They only cost about 40-50 bucks. You could always buy the whole system later on if you wanted.
