hey, i have been doing some research on roller rockers. it seems to me that getting 1.7:1 rockers are a good investment in HP and engine life. My question is that our trucks have hydraulic end-pivot roller rockers, what exactly are these, how do they work and can i find a compatible replacement with regular aftermarket 1.7 rockers? maybe one of you guys can shine some light for me.

The orange things in the picture are roller rockers. You have two per cylinder, one for each valve ( exhaust and intake valve on each cylinder). They are called roller rockers, because on the side that hits the valve there is a roller, OEM rockers are usually just cast, which are heavier and do not have rollers which means more friction. I do not know the ratio in our truck, but lyou usually see aftermarket ones from 1.6:1 and 1.7:1. The higher the ratio, the better. They make your truck think that you have a bigger camshaft, which = more power. Hope I didn't forget anything, but i am sure someone will fill in the blanks if I did.
Yeah, I saw a picture of what I think are hydraulic end-pivot roller rockers. They did not look like an easy roller rocker replacement. I don't know much about internal engine parts or how everything works. I just do a lot of reseach and make sure I have more than just one resource to be sure that I am getting the right info. Maybe you can inform me as to what followers are and how they will benefit my truck.
Where would I locate said roller rockers for my 4.7L, and how would one go about installing these? Have a shop do it? Or could a person do this himself?
