ACTUALLY..... I got the sub brand new for 500... they had it at the store for almost two years, no one ever bought it... sold it for cost... and I have an Orion 1200D that I will be running at .75ohms... I can't wait.. I am thinking about getting the wall of the truck Rhino Lined cuz it's noisier than hell in the truck right now. And I am going sealed, at about 2 - 2.5ft^3 after displacement.

Not surprising they had it that long. A lot of sub for a lot of $'s. Going sealed on that thing the kick drums will feel like a 2x4 between the shoulder blades! Makes the S8L5 I'm putting in w/300w look like kids play. Rhino lining the rear wall would be interesting. Should sure deaden things. Should sound sweeeeet!

You wouldn't by any chance happen to know what those black things on the wall are for would you?

I wonder if I should have them Rhino Line over that.....

Those are cab vents. Not sure how they work but probably don't want to cover them up. I know the guy who's install in his "02" was posted here cut out around those vents when he put the plywood sheet in there to mount the amp. He did use some of the old carpet from the back wall or something to make them look appropriate though.

Yeah, those are cab vents...and no, you dont want to cover those up. I posted the "02" install for the Quad Cab truck. Here's the link again. It'll give you an idea of what he did. Great stuff on his page by the way....

Just think things thru Frenchy. It will come together.

Mr. Moore did a great job on his Dak. I'm going to do pretty much like he did. He sent me the plans for his sub box. Think the "05" has a little more room to play with then the "02". Mine is strictly a budget system which I need to get crackin on real quick.
Kenwood KDC-MP5032 w/install kit $199
Profile AP700M $98
Profile AP600 $88
Phoenix Gold ZR6.5 comps $70(Already installed. May upgrade to some CDT's later)
Kicker S8L5 $90
4ga Amp kit $30

Still need to buy: MDF, Plywood, 2 distro blocks, 1 set of RCA's

If I built an opening around it, would it be fine? Like, if I put MDF around it, and had it vent up the back wall? Would that work?
