Hey All,
I have a 2000 Durango SLT 5.9l and the speaker has blown.. its one of the Infinity systems with the pre amp. I replaced the blow rear speaker with a cheapy one just to get rid of the snappinng but as you all know with the infinity system its replace it with an OEM speaker or replace teh whole system.

I looked at other speakers but I would just like to put in an OEM speaker back in. I have checked ebay and craigslist and all that but no luck.

I am hopeing someone here can help me out. Maybe you still have your old set of stock speakers in your garage or your buddy does. I only need the rear drivers side. If your being super nice both rear would be killer!

If you have a set and can help me out I have some money to pay I just dont have the 153 the freakin dealers wants!! Ill check the PN on it and repost.

Thank you all much

OK I have the part number from the back of the speaker.

56043065AD

Crysler Infinity

6594
36670

Its a 6.5 Inch speaker. If noone has a stock they pulled out that they can part with, maybe one of you know a compatible speaker that will work as good as the stock that isnt 153 bucks!

Thank you much

here is the link I posted concerning speaker replacement for Durangos. It's a long post so read it to the end to know the whole scoop.

http://www.dodgeforum.com/m_280962/tm.htm

within that post check out these two sites:

Okay, I have found a website that sells nothing but special speaker adapters that let you mount aftermarket speakers to OEM mounting brackets or hole locations.

http://www.mjmautoinnovations.com/sakc65t65.htm

Also, here is a website that shows you how to replace the oem's with aftermarket speakers on a 2000 Durango.

http://www.craigcentral.com/durango/speakers.asp

To make a note on that website, they said 4 screws as Digitoxin said. However, on my 2000 Durango, there were "5" screws, not 4. If you look at the 4 screw locations marked on the website, the 5th screw not shown in the picture is located very near the power side mirror adjustment knob. This is the same for the passenger door where there is no power side mirror adjustment knob.

I found another website that you can actually repair the speakers if only the polyeuthane surround foam is blown. I would have gone this route if I known earlier that I can repair the surround foam material. I still have my OEM infinity's sitting on my shelf in the garage, I am going to go to that website and buy the replacement foam repair kit to repair my oem infinitys in case I want to take out my nice infinitys and put them in another car!!!!

I HAVE A 200 DURANGO WITH THE INFITY SYSTEM, I BOUGHT IT USED AND AFTER THE FIRST MONTH TWO OF THE SPEAKERS WERE BUSTED. ONE FROM THE BACK AND ONE FROM THE REAR. I REPLACED THEM WITH TWO SETS OF JENSEN'S MODEL # JPS365 6 1/2 IN SPEKERS. THEY SOUND GREAT FOR $39.99 A PAIR!! I EVEN THINK THE ARE BETTER THAN ORIGINAL EQUIPMENT. THE ONLY THING IS THAT YOU HAVE TO CUT THE ORIGINAL CONNECTORS AND HAVE TO DRILL THEM IN TO THE PLASTIC BRACKETS THE OEM'S ARE IN. HOOD LUCK.

You should check out this website. They make custom fit spacers to mount your aftermarket speakers to the OEM brackets. predrilled and everything. Comes with the screws, sealant foam, everything. I bought this kit to mount my Infinity 6012's. No modifications or alterations needed on the OEM hardware. I also bought some wire splicers so I do not have to cut off the OEM speaker plugs.

http://www.mjmautoinnovations.com/sakc65t65.htm

I am waiting for my surround foam kit from this site so I can repair my OEM infinity speakers to remount them back in my Durango if I need my aftermarket infinities on another car.

http://www.simplyspeakers.com/

I think the cost is like $25-$35 bucks for a pair of replacement surround foam.

I just purchased a pair of Infinity 6012si for the rear as I had a blown right rear. The fit great and came with the adapters..... The install was easy. But they do not produce nearly as much bass as the stock speakers did. Does nayone know why or what I can do to resolve the now lacking bass.

You can repair your OEM's. Just check to see if the surround foam been broken. That is the most common problems with the oem speakers.

Then go to the link I mentioned above to get a replacement surround foam.

I just put the Infinity Kappa 63.7s in my truck front and rear. All adapters included and very cheap. With shipping they were under $100 per set on eBay. Crutchfield was more than 2 times this price....

the problem with replacing your OEM speakers with aftermarket when you have the infinity set up is the impedance. infinity used 2ohm speakers instead of the normal 4ohm. so when you replace your speakers, even if you do it one at a time, with leaving the headunit and factory amp, you need to use 2ohm speakers. 2ohm is louder, like when you wire a sub down to 2ohms. if you arent getting good sound out of your replacements, take it out, or look at the box to see if they are 4 or 2ohms. and you'll never get good bass out of aftermarket door speakers unless you are willing to buy the big boys, like mb quart.

check this link, these are nice (not great, but nice) if you are looking to replace blown speakers.
