View Full Version : becoming a moderator? ramfan5.9 06-15-2004, 10:33 PM how do u become a moderator jw it may have already been asered but i havent foound it n e where jw thanx for the help dustyloins 06-15-2004, 10:43 PM Well, you gotta learn how to spell.......(sorry Amanda......) seriously, your postings are a little hard to read at times, but you have interesting topics..... Dodgegirl19 06-15-2004, 11:18 PM I choose moderators... and Dustyloins is right (no apology needed Dusty)... spelling is VERY important, people need to be able to understand you. Helpfulness is important... and time here is important... I always have a list of potential moderators in mind, and there is no way to talk your way onto the list. I watch everything that goes on here and pick the people best suited to improve DF. :) ~Amanda ramfan5.9 06-15-2004, 11:22 PM o i wasnt trying to talk my way onto the list or anything but i was just wondering how moderators were choosen Dodgegirl19 06-15-2004, 11:31 PM I wasn't saying you were... I was just saying there is no way to get on the list other than impressing me... LOL!! :) ~Amanda moparturd 06-18-2004, 10:44 PM Amanda. What's your address? I'd like to send you some flowers and a box of candy.[sm=smiley4.gif] HEMI TT 07-01-2004, 03:52 AM So Amanda what impresses you, no j/k. I like the site, and agree with Amanda nobody should be picked because of what they say or do for one person, but more like what they can bring to everybody. moparmania 07-24-2004, 07:51 AM <<<< Cant afford to buy everyone flowers and candy. Guess I won't make the cut. lol ViperGTS 07-24-2004, 09:09 PM ORIGINAL: HEMI TT So Amanda what impresses you, no j/k. ah, theres a good strategy to becoming a moderator....but I think Dusty would get that position way before you [&:] -Matt- Dodgegirl19 07-24-2004, 09:17 PM Dusty is already a moderator. ;) And yes... you have to impress me with your knowledge, the way you treat members here... etc. :) ~Amanda Fiddle Player 07-24-2004, 11:20 PM Wish I had the brains..but sorry to say it works only half the time![sm=smiley36.gif][sm=smiley36.gif] Karen SHAPman 07-25-2004, 02:26 AM Not to pose a stupid question, but what is the advantage to becoming a moderator? And yes I too wish we had spellchecker on this forum!;) I have to keep a dictionary next to me as I post somtimes.[:@] Joe dustyloins 07-25-2004, 07:11 PM The advantage is we all get to drive Dodge Vipers. (kidding) I keep an "Instant Spelling Dictionary" on the self below my computer as well. [&:] Deleted User 07-25-2004, 08:09 PM [Deleted by Admins] dustyloins 07-25-2004, 10:10 PM Story of my life!!!!! Would you believe I did that on purpose as a screening test for future moderators?? No?? Good!!!!![sm=smiley36.gif][sm=smiley20.gif][sm=smiley36.gif] SHAPman 07-26-2004, 10:05 AM So dusty you still haven't answered my question? Are there are pros, or is it really just a title otherwise known as babysitter?;) Joe redriderbob 07-26-2004, 01:48 PM ORIGINAL: Dodgegirl19 And yes... you have to impress me with your knowledge, the way you treat members here... etc. :) ~Amanda Couldn't agree more myself, Amanda. However, another big part is checking into the site a lot. I am on here once to four times daily. Pretty sad, when you come to think of it! lol. redriderbob Dodgegirl19 07-26-2004, 01:50 PM That's given Robert... I've only picked people who visted often. Vader is a bit MIA lately, but we know why and DodgeFreak, well, I kick him as many times as I can, but he's working so much... but you, me, 71RR and Dusty hold the fort up just fine. :) ~Amanda dustyloins 07-26-2004, 03:45 PM Well, I wouldn't use the term "babysitter", most everyone on here is mature and I sure as heck won't change diapers!! "Monitor" might be more accurate. And no, there are no "perks", we do it because we have an interest in DCX products, plus Amanda is cool to work with....[sm=smiley14.gif] SHAPman 07-26-2004, 11:57 PM Thats cool, I was just wondering if it was anything to strive for. Now I know Amanda lives in shelby, if I just send every Amanda there flowers...;) Joe Dodgegirl19 07-27-2004, 01:07 AM Thanks Dusty... you are awesome to work with yourself... :):) No need to send flowers... donations for modifications will do just fine... LOL! ;) ~Amanda redriderbob 07-27-2004, 02:29 AM What a bunch of horn dogs, lol! redriderbob SHAPman 07-27-2004, 11:17 AM Not I sir, I am a happily married man. Just trying to get on her good side early. Even though I should have known better than flowers, will have to start sending shelby parts her way!;) Now if you ever need a dcx emp take on a situation just ask! I am surprised that there are so few emp on this forum. Well I guess I shouldn't be though, shoot half of them don't even drive a chrysler no less get excited about them. Sad but true. BTW, congrats on building a house!!!!!! Enjoy!!!! dodgerider222 08-15-2004, 03:00 AM How do you get more stars? Just by how many posts you have? dustyloins 08-15-2004, 10:05 AM More postings = more stars. It's an automatic process. 02JeepGC 08-18-2004, 03:49 AM How do you get a higher score? dustyloins 08-18-2004, 06:23 PM That's basically for "exceptional" postings....it hasn't been used a lot lately because most of our DF members post exceptional posts as a matter of routine....[sm=smiley14.gif] 02JeepGC 08-20-2004, 12:11 AM OK I see. millenniumdna 09-28-2004, 01:40 PM <installs spell check> Dodgegirl19 09-28-2004, 02:15 PM Excuse me? ~Amanda ViperGTS 09-28-2004, 05:44 PM Ive never noticed one... -Matt- Dodgegirl19 09-28-2004, 05:47 PM We don't have on here but WTF does that have to do with anything? You can get one installed when you right click... :) That's what I have. ~Amanda millenniumdna 09-28-2004, 10:00 PM I was just commenting that Im going to install a spell check since it's an important requirement for moderator. ;) When you right-click how does that work or what is the program? dustyloins 09-28-2004, 11:46 PM So is a grammer check.....[sm=smiley20.gif] millenniumdna 09-29-2004, 12:24 AM Yeah that too [&:] Dodgegirl19 09-29-2004, 01:57 AM http://www.iespell.com/download.php ~Amanda millenniumdna 09-29-2004, 03:26 AM Thanks alot.
