Default inline fuel filter?

it is my understanding that in order to change the fuel filter in the 2nd gen neon the tank must be dropped correct?
is there a way to run an inline filter instead of going through dropping the tank to change the filter?

Default RE: inline fuel filter?

Yes your fuel filter is in the tank. It rests in the sump at the end of the pump. If you need to change your filter running an inline external filter will not fix any problems you are having with the in tank filter.

If you need to change the filter, which is suposed to be a lifetime filter. Then you need to change it as opposed to adding a new filter. If the in-tank is clogged your not gonna get the flow you need. Adding an external filter will make sure you don't get any crap in the fuel system, but you won't be getting any gas to the motor either.
