Hey All,

I've done most of the easy mods for my Daytona so far. Flashpaq, free flowing exhaust, Volant CAI, Airraid TB spacer et al.

I'm running the 87 oct performance settings on my FlashPaq. I have the trans custom with reduced torque management etc. Paddle shifting with hold works perfect. My quandry is you guys talk about breaking tires loose from a stop and while hitting the 2nd gear shift etc. Even if I turn off esp at the button I can't get more then a chirp on accel. In fact the car seems MUCH faster at a half throttle accel then at full. Am I missing a setting or is something wrong with my trans? You guys talk about smoking tires and sideways walks...

our car will get it sideways or spin the tires from a stand still, till second gear then the ESP takes over even witth the button pushed. If I am rolling in 1st gear and stomp it it will leave dual tire marks(putting the power down to the ground).I am guessing maybe you still have ESP enabled ?

Hmmm.... It sure sounds and feels like ESP is still enabled. I'm going to go hook up the tuner again and see what transpires. My car certainly doesn't break loose the way yours sounds. Thanks for the input!

I'm still a bit baffled. I tossed on my Flashpaq again to check and update settings. I answered yes to reducing torque management, again. This should be correct, yes?

When I drive the car I can feel the ESP (or something but what else would it be?) holding it down when the power gets to a point where you would expect it to break the tires loose. This is both with the ESP switch on and off. For a test I removed the #17 fuse and rather then losing most if not all of the ESP function the car felt like the e-brake was on. No it wasn't on! :)

My Daytona is the same. I just stomp the pedal at a stand still and only get a chirp. I only have Flashpaq with 91 octane and Torque Management off. Perhaps others are two footing the start?

Well gents I can say that my GOmanGO Daytona will light them up and set her sideways. I have double stacked the Jet chip with the Superchips flash pac. I am so much more impressed with the Superchip programer over the Jet Chip alone. I live in a very hot climate so I am not sure if the hemi will take so much advanced timing and it has only been a couple of days of playing now. But give her a little power brake as you bring her up to the converter lock up and bye bye expensive Michelins... only head ache is redlining so fast and getting use to the jockey shift now that it actually holds until I shift her...also note that once you hit the rev limiter you can shift until the rpm drops.

I also note after building 3 Hemi Ram trucks the red line on the car reflash is considerably less than the trucks that was over 6,000+. But what I do know is that none of my built trucks would ever set me back in the seat the way ole ORange does. To date my additional mods are Flowmasters with 12" glass packs and the K&N air intake system... I also want to know if any one out there has tried the Comp Cam I saw in Hot Rod Magazine that produced 481 HP with no other internal changes.

Have either of you taken your cars to the track and see what quarter mile times you get with the mods?

You are using the Jet Chip WITH the Flashpaq? I was told not to do this. How is it working for you? Have you tried it without the Jet Chip, but with the Flashpaq to compare how it is with both?

I am thinking still you guys have it turned on (your esp) you have to push the button then you will get the little light, that is suppose to mean its off.Hemifyd I dont think you should be running the chip with tuner.Everyone I have talked to says you will end up burning something up,most of these guys have been messing with tuners for years and say never run with a chip.Dave I read the tuner is much better then the jet chip.

I have tried with TM turned off with the tuner and with the ESP button pressed and not pressed. I am guessing that I will need to two foot the start to loose some rubber. A long time ago I had a Pontiac Firebird Formula 350 that would chirp the tires even when shifting from 1st to 2nd. The charger shifts are a bit softer. I love the acceleration from 30 to 100. Is there a post that goes through all of the flashpaq settings?

74 scamp I am indeed running both.. I'm sure the manufactures don't want to promote each others products. I will continue to run the hell out of it in the desert and let you know but so far so good. Only a slight idle purge at stop but nothing I am afraid of as my Rams did it to when I had larger jets put in them...

Zeep why in the heck are you running 87 octane gas & programming. Originally when the RAM trucks rolled with Hemi's in 2003 they recommended premium. Yeah it cost more but the 87 gas is full of water and micro garbage that evenitullay will plug your injectors. I'd run 103 if I could afford it... Higher the octane the hotter the spark... spark equals HP.

Pretty much the same with mine. I can pull out of our local Walmart, get going straight, and at about 15 mph I can hammer it, it will downshift and start spinning the tires until I have to let off for the stop light! :-).

Hemifyd - how long have you been running both the Jet chip and the flashpaq together? Just curious.

I really wish someone could figure out how to really turn off the traction control!

While I tend to agree on the "Zeep (It's Zedd btw) why are you running 87 and....." I will probably not stay with 87 oct but either way I doubt that will affect how my trans/esp works. I am still breaking it in and will most probably switch to the also piss poor 91 we get here in CA after that.

Thanks for all the input though guys!

It sure seems like there are different stages of ESP off conditions. Since I have a Daytona, I did the hold the esp button for the extra chime thing and it did make a difference. It still wouldn't smoke and walk like a 350-400hp Dodge V8 should though. The thing screams on the roadafter take off. I am seriously starting to wonder if there isn't some miracle 3000 mile mark programming in the ecu the way some have claimed.

Do you really know what the ESP is ? Its one giant safety feature just way to much for me to list, plus you gotta realize the suckers have 18" on them and are heavy weights coming in at 4300lbs.I am very impressed with mine, even though I think they should boil the tires.I have realized that they dont have 14" or 15" like yester years muscle cars did so they arent gonna do it.Put a set of 15" on there and watch em smoke.(you can make that check payable to me cause Ill take it to the bank)Maybe there is something about 3000 miles to I just cant recall it .
