Hi all! New Member, first post, all that. I am the proud new owner of a new Top Banana Daytona. Awesome car. My question is, will the semi flat decals hold up to waxing? My baby is crying for a wax job in the morning but I have no desire to gain a bunch of white streaks on the many many decals. Greatly enjoying trying to catch up with all the great info you have here. Sorry if that has been addressed and my searches missed it. Regards, Keith

No Zedd, You'll want to avoid using your carnoba or synth finishes on your vinyl. Get yourself some Mother's back-to-black and use that for your decals and black finish surfaces. Welcome to the forum and enjoy your beast.

Thanks for the info. The product worked fairly well. I think I didn't use enough at first but later it worked well.

I am a new member just as you with Top Banana # 255. It is everything I imagined it would be when I ordered it back in 10/2005. I got it the week before X-Mas. I have been struggling with the same question you pose and after talking with a few companies, I have learned there are a few good products to use to clean the flat black decals. I spoke with the developer of a product manufacted by Wizard Products called Mist N Shine. It has no silicone, etc.. and it really cleaned the decals well. Zymol also has some products that I am told you can use as well, but the Mist N Shine worked for me. Hope this helps!!

That's great info, Thanks. I will keep this product in mind as well. Now, if I only had my car!!! I waxed it yesterday (Sunday) for the first time and noticed a tear in the seal around the sunroof. The dealer didn't have it in stock today and wanted to keep the car since it was supposed to rain tonight. I have a rental Stratus... Ugggg!

What do you use then Baldy? I notice mine are quite splotchy now after washing the car a time or two after using Mother's. I know I can always reapply, but curious what you've been using.

PROTECTALL............ available online at www.protectall.com or at RV stores or WallyWorld in the RV section. Great stuff. no problem on vinyl surfaces like this. Been using it for years successfully on other cars. Great on glass, vinyl, leather, painted surfaces, aluminum, metal. :) No, I don't sell the stuff, and not connected in any way, just a great product. to quote from their site: Protect All Polish, Wax & Treatment with UV Blocker Advanced formula Protect All with UV Blocker is an extremely effective cleaner, polish, wax, treatment and protectant for all types of vehicles and surfaces. The application is as quick and easy as wipe on, wipe dry and it requires no tedious detailing around lettering and rubber molding. Superior quality carnauba wax creates and maintains a durable and lustrous showroom shine. This versatile and economical product is perfect for the do-it-yourselfer or professional detailer to beautify and protect clear-coats, paint, aluminum, fiberglass, gelcoats, chrome, stainless steel, glass, vinyl, rubber, plastic and more. Protect All really does do it all!

http://www.phoenixgraphix.com/ They also have a product that the use for all their restoration decals. Also a great site for those of you who want to jazz up a non-daytona edition. Note the picture of my Red 2003 Ram with one of their first retro Hemi bumble bee stripes for new vehicles. I have been using them for years and they sell only the best licensed products
