In Ohio it hit $3 today...man, and I thought it might eventually start to fall. The 6.1 may end up equipped w/ MDS, which really does not bother me that much as long as there is a way to shut it off...like traction control. Both have their place, but there are times when they do not

Driven the 5.7 with MDS? You don't know when it is running on four or eight cylinders, it's that seemless. It's there when you need it believe me! I think the 6.1 with the same system would act just the same as the 5.7 and you have the benefit of improved mileage if you could keep your foot out of it!
Actually yes. Both 5.7 w/ MDS and my 5.7 truck w/out. You're right, pretty seamless, yet noticeable. But heck, if its there and they leave the rest of it alone, no problem.
I don't believe that MDS would be feasible in the 6.1L as I've been told it would run like a jalloppy due to it's more aggressive cam. I suppose they could just put a milder cam in the engine, but what would be the point?
Personally, I bought my SRT-8 for the performance- I don't really care all that much about gas mileage. Sure, it would be nice to have a few extra MPGs, but I wouldn't sacrifice the performance of the engine for it.
