It seems that both first and second generation forums only have people complaining about their cars. I mean consider buying a K-Car if you want reliability. What is wrong with these cars that makes them break down or malfunction all the time? In my opinion Intrepids have to many things wrong with them to make them worth keeping.

I think the griping comes from the fact that when many of us come here for the first time, it is to find the answer to a problem we are facing. I'd have to say that my wife loves her '94 Intrepid. I have not had a lot of problems with it until a few months ago when the ignition switch went bad. That was a tough one to crack.

That is true and that ironically that is why i first came on here. But what i am saying is that the people with problems are not all new. I have yet to see a day when there are more posts about other subjects than repairs on this forum.

I haven't had any major problems with my intrepid. Most of the things I see are just due to high miles and such, or lack of proper care. My LHS on the other hand, had a tone of problems and was only 2 years older than my Intrepid...it had lower miles but it just wasn't taken care of.

i have a 95 3.3 and the only real problem i've had is a deer bouncing off the front at 60 mph, other than that i love the car, but i know what you mean. not long ago i looked in hear to check it out and there was like 2 post, so at least it is getting used more now

I think most of the issues your seeing with the Intrepids comes from the sludge issues in the 2.7L and the problem with the low rpm idle/oil light.

The other thing is that alot of people buy their car used....and expect it to be like a new car. Unfortunately, the new owner winds up having to deal with all the problems and blames it on the car....when I'm sure we could agree that some of those issues could simply be blamed on the previous owner's abuse and upkeep of the car.

I have a '95 3.5L and I love the car. Only minor problems with it. I recently loaned it to a family member for a few months and now I have to replace the driver's seat but other than that its been very dependable.
