So then did you get your tuner Dave?I really see no need to up the Rev limiter unless you are still making hp at that higher rpm. I think at 6000 it starts dropping back off this is where the dyno would come in handy.

Well I'm looking to understand this programming on the FP tuner.. Stock size for my tires.. is there some formula? What is the effect of the difference between Performance & Sports settings on the trans. options? What effect does the options for shift points have and do we know best performance adjustments within the option?

GOT IT!! Apparently, I don't need any internet update, at least not right now. I programmed it with the 91 octane, "Sport" package. I raised the speed limiter to 145, and made sure the tire size was 27.5. Now, here's what I can tell from a short drive, and not really being able to get on it hard for very long. This is comparing it to the JET Stage 2 chip I had in it. Off-idle throttle response is MUCH better. I'm not sure what this is attributable to - maybe the torque control (ESP). I did NOT turn off the ESP in the car. Don't know if we're supposed to do that or not. Anyone else know? Driveability is much improved - it seems much smoother responsively at all speeds. I need to go in and firm up the transmission shifts in the "custom" mode, but other than that, overall, I would say it is better than the JET Stage 2 chip. It's also still getting really good gas mileage. I reset it after "playing" a little bit, and the onboard computer indicated at one point over 28 mpg. Granted, this was only at 50-55 mph, but that's better than I was getting before. I wonder what, if anything, would happen if the tire size was changed to a bigger/smaller tire? Any ideas? Overall, I'm very happy and impressed with it. It's so much smoother that I didn't think it was as quick until I looked at the speedometer :-). dave

Edwin, Have we access to any further information on the best settings for shift points using the new flashpaq tuner? Best I can get from my folks is that a lower shift point will provide least loss in RPM after shift change. I'd appreciate understanding the principles before I go changing settings, though I know I need another gear between 3&4.. Any information from anyone is much appreciated.

Daytona RT - The rpms are going to change the same no matter where you have the shift point set - that's a function of the gear ratios, not the shift point. You want to set it to change gears so that the rpms stay in the "sweet" spot, so to speak. If you power is best between, say, 4,000 and 5,000, then you want to try and set up your shift points so that when the rpms drop after the shift, they stay as close to, if not at, 4,000 rpm (say it drops 750 rpm between shifts, then you might want it to shift at 5,000 so that the next gear engages at about 4,250). If you "sweet" spot is, say, between 3,500 and 4,500, then you want to shift sooner and try to keep the rpms from dropping too much below 3,500. Get the idea? Hope this helps. dave
