OMG.. Don't tell anyone.. but I read the FlashPaq manual.. interesting.. Tranny settings.. Custom gave me the choice to reduce torque management.. I think thats being the effect of ESP?? Raise shift points gave me a 6250 RPM cap.. not baad for 1st & second gear.. Good performance and really made a difference in the performance in 3rd gear.. Dropped right back into the power range @ 4500 RPM.. Great clue Dave. I just gotta remember that if I'm in it.. I'm in it all the way.. WOT is now set at 6250 as well.. Man that Beast will sing at 6200 RP.. Trans is hitting like a sledge hammer.. there's no pause or slip when it shifts.. I'm real impressed there. One word of warning.. be careful if you set your trans to Paddle Hold.. theWOT is disinganged and if you forget to shift.. its alot of pressure on the unit.. Wandering around the county.. I'm stayin in Auto.. when I want to or might need to get deep in it.. the passing gear seems to function far quicker w/ better performance and torque.. than dropping into 3rd and steaming upwards and into the power range. My point being that we all get a charge out of the shift control in traffic.. up to and driving away from the stop signs and lights.. For best revs & performance underway.. mid range into high demand.. keep it in auto.. You'll appreciate it when you need it. Be careful out there..

Brian, I reprogrammed mine this morning and drove it to work. I did the "Performance" section this time. I upped the shift point and said "yes" to the torque management (EPS). I could tell a difference. Mine shifts at about 6000 now. The best part about that is if I'm in fast city traffic (45-50 mph), I can leave it in auto, and if I need to go I just hit it a bit and it will downshift and hold until I let up a bit and then shift. The point being, I don't need to use the paddle to down shift and hold it. As long as I'm moderately into it, it will stay in that lower gear and climb as fast or as slow as I need it to - depending on traffic situations. (Does this make any sense???) I haven't had a chance to try a hard WOT to feel the shift from first to second. Maybe on the way home tonight, or over the weekend. I do wish it had a little more on the top end, though. In this altitude, she's pretty much done by about 5500, but will still climb to 6000 OK. She really screams! dave

One thing that I did notice is that the idle seems a bit higher. There is noticebly more grab by the torque converter at idle then without the program. It requires a little more brake to hold it at a light. The throttle reponse seems more eager. The downshift happens sooner, but seems to take just as long. I guess I was hoping for faster shifts. Overall I am happy with the update, after 4 days.

ARe you talking about the time between shift points, or the actual shift? I'm a bit confused. If you want it to shift quicker, i.e., less "run" time between shifts, you can probably lower the shift points. So, instead of shifting at, say, 6000, you could set it to shift at around 5000. Is that what you were talking about? dave

Apparently the only option is to raise the shift point.. Which is I believe, the prompt to increase the rev limiter to 6250 and thus the WOT exercises @ 6250 as well. The is no decrease shift points.. so I think the options are stock settings or the 6250 upper limit. Of course when deep in the rainbow.. your shift change will drop you back to a point equally elevated.. in my case 3rd @ 4600 rpm from 2nd @ 6250. Better than 3850 in stock settings.
