I have leaking power steering fluid. The last thing done to the car was the 100K service. The car is moaning while running and stopped. When i turn i can obviously tell it was low on fluid from the noise.
The pump and lines look OK, no leaking there. The rack is pretty dry from the top.
I got underneath and there are two lines covered in ps fluid that run along the bottom of the rack body. They look like low pressure lines, because I thought they were rubber lines slipped into steel lines (note, no hose clamps). I grabbed them, but they seem to be steel slipped into steel pipe. Anybody have experience with these lines leaking. Not leaking at the fittings, but seems to be where the slip fit is. I am not sure yet. Thx for any help. Any pics of the rack & lines running along the bottom would be appreciated.

I wouldn't call them slip on, more like steel line slip fit into another steel line. I really don't believe there are any rubber lines, they didn't feel like rubber. It is hard to see cuz it is hard to get the car high enough off the ground to get a good look, since it is almost under the center of the car. I will go to the dealer tonight to get a picture of the rack & lines to get a better idea.
Hmmm, very interesting...I cannot help you much with this because honestly...I've never really gave my steering rack more than a cursory glance when I've been under the car.
Would anybody have a pic of the power steering lines configuration. I know there is two underneath, and I have two fittings going into the top. But all the parts stores keep telling me there is only a single line into the top.
