Why is it codenamed ZB? I don't know if this is true but I heard that this viper will have 700 horsepower.[8D] I'm glad chevy came up with the z06. Now I just heard that this viper will not be a next gen viper, thats where ZB comes from. January 2007 is a possible date for this viper.

The 2008 is said to be on the ZB platform. It will be the next gen

I've heard 550 at first, then 650....now it's 700. It's all rumor.

Considering that 06' production is still going on and will continue until late 2006, January 2007 won't happen, there's just no time to produce a whole new car. 2008 October should be the release date.

I wonder how will it look. Thats too long to wait.[&:] I wonder how much will this viper cost, 90000, 100000, or 1million[sm=escape.gif]

Lighter
"New Skin" aka more aerodynamic styling?
New hood (It's sexy )
525-650 hp (No way it will have 700 hp, give me a break)

It'll look like a million. With the new skin and better drag resistance, the car should be more aerodynamic. My only fear is change, I love the way the rear looks... and almost everything about it. Lol

I hope it can do at least 200mph or higher[8D] 0-60 in 2 seconds.

You have unrealistic dreams... You want a car that can do it in 2 seconds? Spend $250,000 on a Hennessey Viper... Why would you want a stock Viper to do 0-60 in 2 sec? You want this thing to cost 140K stock? The Vette only does it in 3.6... Give me a break man... Seriously...

If a stock viper did 0-60 in 2 seconds you wouldn't have to worry about the z06. If they make the viper lighter anythings possible. [8D]Alright since the z06 does it in 3.6, how about 2.6. Have you forgotten that chevy is going to build a super vette since there is no 2007 viper.

I know all about the Hennessey Vipers and the Viper upgrade...

0-60 isn't the goal here... We need to get off of the 0-60 subject... The goals are 1/4 mile and top speed...

And if it did it in 2 seconds, it wouldn't be under $100,000 anymore...

You have to be realistic about it... Don't you understand the fact that you want a super car that will out perform the enemy but will still be a good deal... You are talking about $250,000 cars which 98% of the world can't afford, and you wouldn't be able to either....

I gave up a long time ago. And I do agree, when you are into this level of car the 0-60 means nothing. It is 1/4 and 0-100 times. Equally important is braking distance and corning ability. Mustang owners talk 0-60s.
