Just got some rims on my 04 SRT4. MSR's, black w/ chrome lip, 17 x 7.5. They were cheap (under $900 for rims and 225/45/17 tires), but have the two things I was looking for: black & increased width. Now that they are on there the wheel gap is driving me nuts! Every night I lay in bed and just picture my car lowered..... oh how beautiful it would be. Naturally, I would like the coilovers, but alas I am on a very limited budget. So for I now I am toying with the idea of springs. Looking at the Progress springs on Modern Performance. Anyone have any experience with these? Would this be a good low budget solution?

Also, I called a shop to give me an installation price for I do not have a spring compressor, and quite honestly am not familiar with that field. Guy said it would be like $400 for labor according to book! Am I the only one who finds that a little rediculous?

Any suggestions would be appreciated! I'm just a guy who is probably way too picky about the look of his Honda Killer......

hi Plan b.......does the new tires with the smaller side wall over stock..make the car look worse?.....because i ordered the same size tires

i also found some coilovers made bye ipp. for under 600 dollars probably the cheapest on the net http://www.xtremeracingandsound.com/shop/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=4_11&products_id=165 just a option

To answer your question....yes. The smaller sidewalls make a noticable difference. There is quite a bit of wheel gap that was not entirely noticable with the stock setup. Sometimes I look at it and the first thing that comes to mind is 4X4[:'(]. It almost makes me wish I went with 18's. That is a damn good price for coilovers, but right now I don't even have that much mula.... That is why I was looking into springs.... Haven't heard much about ipp. Have you?

ive read sweet reviews on there carbon hood which is what im saving for now..best price too http://www.xtremeracingandsound.com/shop/index.php?main_page=product_info&products_id=91

i asked the salesman about the tire difference......and he told me its only a 1/4 inch smaller than stock....thats going to suck if its like your saying
i knew i should have bought the 225/50/17's :(

i may buy them ipp shocks next instead of the hood.........so if anyone else has info on if there good are not please post thanks
