German Loremo AG will introduce their ultra Efficient Car at the Motor Show 2006 (site) in Geneva next week.
The car start-up developed a light-weight passenger car with outstanding aerodynamics. The Loremo LS is powered by a 2 cylinder Turbo Diesel engine with 20 hp and 160km/h top speed. The amazing thing is that the Loremo only needs 1.5l per 100km. This is approx. 157MPG!
The Toyota Prius hybrid has only 55MPG (combined city and highway).
With one tank (20l) you could drive 1,300km.

RE: The Ultra Efficient Car - 157MPG!
Having paid the price of gasoline in Germany, I can understand their need for this car.......!!!

This thing needs to hit the US. It looks fantastic!
How bout no... It looks like a totally screwed up Porshe...
Why is it that all these hybrid and efficient vehicles are to make my eyes bleed from disgust?
One more note... WOW at the 20 hp... Good luck getting on the interstate with that... 157 MPG might cost you your life if you try to get on the highway...

Good point, it might take while. I agree the car does look bad, but compared to other fuel efficient cars such as the Insight it looks great.
I'd like to see some performance numbers before I would try to take that thing on the freeway...plus, it cannot weigh very much...deathtrap with the way idiots drive these days...
