Default to many forums/sub-forums

It's getting a little silly with how many forums and sub-forums are on this board, it's hard to keep track of anything because you forget where the heck you even saw it, for example the Magnum forum just got two sub forums, drivetrain and handle when there aren't that many posts there in the first place, it didn't really need to split to be 3 different forums.

Actually, the Magnum section requested those sub-forums....and they are the second LARGEST car section on this forum

Also, we're pushing 26-27,000 members....you cant just lump everything into single categories and expect people to fish thru months of rant/off topic posts to find stuff. Having those sub-sections is in fact a good way to let people find things.

That said, I take it you are trying to say that the forum has gotten too big?

Sub forums aren't usually created unless those members requested it...

Ask the Magnum members why they wanted it...

There's not many subforums if you think about it. Only different generations, certain engines, then just whatever members asked for. It's just a part of growing

Like in the Ram section... "V6 Specific" and "Cummins Related" were asked for... Just like the Magnum section split was asked for...

And one reason you don't see amny posts in each sub forums, is because moderators are in the process of moving threads... It can't be done instantly...

I'm not sure why anyone in the Magnum section would ask for it, that's the one I visit the most since I own a Magnum and posting even in that forum before it was split was pretty slow.

With so many forums I find you post on a thread and then can't find it again without doing a search for all threads i've posted in because it's hidden in another forum somewhere.

I don't think the board has gotten to big, just the number of forums is to much for how many people are on the boards, only other forum I know that has as many forums also has 62,000 members, and even then some of the forums are a little on the slow side.

Yes, that site has twice as many members, but is slower than DF... lol

I agree, after taking a look at the Mag section, it didn't really need to be split up...

No, the other forum definatly isn't slower, over 3.8 million posts vs a little over 600,000 here, but even with the volume of posts there some of the forums can seem slow posting wise. Was just a sugestion cause it does seem to make it hard to keep track of things on this board to me.

It's actually 927,559 vs 603,402 here and they have existed longer and that's over time... Posts per day, we've got them...

the other forum only existed about a year longer, they just get more posts because it's a computer overclocking forum so basicaly anyone with a computer were as this is a Dodge specific site so a bit more limited because it's focused on one brand.
