Well digging and research really does work guys.

While taking my time deciding and researching for cat-back replacement I came across a definate plus for the street racer. Take some time and look here http://www.dmhperformance.com/contactus.htm and see if this doesn't excite you. Listen to the audio.. don't smile..

I can't tell you how many times I've laid on my back in the road to unbolt the wingnut holding my exhaust dump. Now the folks at DMH Performance have a nice toy for you folks that can on occasion have the opportunity to really shake the ground. Sit'n at the light and up comes the urge to stomp that pony.. or the goat, I'm gonna flip that switch and listen to the beast come alive..

Today I went on and placed my order for the Borla performance cat-back and the complete duel e-cutout. I'm seriously stoked to get these mods into my beast. I'm expecting a real kick in the seat and joy in the ear..

I'll update late next week when I'm shaking the pavement and watchin the law lookin for the baadguy..

Be careful out there this weekend.

can you run no cats/no mufflers on these without a problem?
would this be helpful performance wise if you opened your exhaust for a quick street race or a run down the track?

Absolutely, for those with cat, it goes inline just after the cat unit. Without, its just inline after the collector. He'll size the cutout to match your system.. 2 amp drives switch to operate the dump motors, Dave says its as simple as pulling a lead off your cig lighter or 2 amp fuse. Seals have a 4 year warrantee, and easilly replaced.

Yeah but you are still running 2 1\2 out plus you still got cats.I didnt see that it exits all of your exhaust sounds like a bad leak to me in my opinion.I guess if I want headers I am gonna buy the real thing. He got any dyno resulst off of these?

Baldy,

My point being that for those that must stay with Cats, this option allows the exhaust to dump prior to the remaining pipes, mufflers and tips. For those that are not regulated & need the cats, and will often use the unit for weekends or the everyday, a flip of the switch and you've got the open header exhausts your want for that opportuned moment to stop the competition.

I'm nearly done with Mod 2. A pal locally is encouraging me to take some laps and has access to the dyno. I'm looking forward to the results, if they are not too pathetic I'll get'm posted back here.

You can believe me when I say,

If I had the choice.. the Cats would be laying in a smoldering heap on the shop floor. If I had my 68 Chevelle SS.. these cut-outs would be right behind the header collectors. As for power.. I've got confirmation that I'll get my day on the Dyno once I get these Borla's installed.. Perhaps next week or if not.. the week following. I'll be able to do some tuning and get some information back to the readers on this 06 Daytona. I only regret that I was not able to run a tape on the factory settings, air supply and exhaust and compare it to the mods. My intent is to run the 3rd as a tuned closed exhaust configuration.. with the 4th.. open cut-outs and see what my improvement there is to torque & HP.

Ohh Yea !! This is nice !! I got the cut-outs installed and there is a definate roar to the beast. The motors react real quick to the switch and it doesn't matter if its idle or the throttle is wide open. Performance jump is extremely noticable.. the RPM just leap @ 3800-400 up and over 5000. I've no dyno tape for it yet but its going to be real noticable. As for the sound.. I've already intimidated the local camaro.. nothing like that harmonic growl of the Borla,, transformed to the open throat roar of the open exhaust. This is the audio everyone wants for their beast.. conservative sedan by day.. rabid devil by night.. enjoy!!

What was the total cost if you don't mind me asking. I have a buddy that is all about Mustangs and is getting on my nerves. I am going back home in a few months. I want just a little bit more of a kick in the ass to give when I get there by having all the mods done by then.

its really not baad.. I paid the $260 for the duels @ 2-1/2".. got them installed when my Borla cat back was put in.. prolly added 40 bucks to the install.. and I wired it myself into the cig lighter up front.. 3 bills total?

So, with these you have to buy the electric cut out, but you also have to buy the Y adaptor? I looked, but didn't find a ready to go package - maybe I just missed it.

When I purchased my cut-outs from DMH I got the Y adapter with the electric gates. So far, nearly 2 months down I'm tickled. Not a problem and I have both sound and performance on demand.. and the throaty tuned sound of the Borla.
