Hey all!

I'm going to be re-tinting my 96 intrepid, but this time I would like to make the job a lot a bit easier by taking the windows off the tracks so i can just set them on a table and apply the tint. Are the door panels don't seem to be too much of a pain to get off, but I was curious if anyone has any hints or tips on how to get the windows off the door!

There should be access holes in the door after you remove the door panel. You may have to have the window part way up or down to align the holes with the bolts that attach the window to the bracket. There will probably be only 2 bolts and a few soft washers that go betwwen the glass and the metal bracket that it bolts to. It should be fairly easy. The hard part is retrieving the washers after they fall into the door.

Very true (losing parts in the door). We tried tinting the car w/o taking off the windows, and as a result there's probably 2 or 3 razorblades in each door now. Doh!

pull the speaker grill and there are 4 screws inside there-3 screws along the bottom of the panel, one in the door pull, one in the handle recess, one in the R/S corner(with the door open). I also take off the the little sattelite speaker if you have them or the block offs if not(sit on top of the R/S of panel). Then LIFT UP on the panel, there are little clips that it slides down into when it attaches. All in all probably 3-5 minutes-no tricks. Then you can loosen the 2 nuts that hold the window to the track and pull the whole window out.
