Hi all!! Former Ford and GM guy whos been sucked over to Dodge by the Charger Daytona. Never have I been so excited about a car nor have I been inclined to spend the extra $$ on any aftermarket mods. Which brings me to my question (My first on this forum): I've purchased 3 mods; Stage 2 Perf Chip, K&N Cold Air intake and a Borla Exhaust system. I read somewhere that the chip will take up to 2 weeks to "learn" my car before it makes any adjutments. So my question is if I should install theses mods in any sort of sequence. IE: filter and intake, then the chip. Or does it really matter? Only asking because I have the two simple installations now but I'm still waiting for the exhaust to show up... and... well.... I really wanna play!! Thanks in advance for any help/input!! Bob

Congrats on your new Daytona and welcome to the world of Dodge! :) If I were you, I would wait to install the chip until you have your exhaust installed. If the chip is going to "learn" your car, it might as well do it when it knows how much extra flow your new exhaust will provide. Just my two cents!

Thanks Guys!! I figured as much. My exhaust is "supposed" to be here tomorrow. But this chip and CAI are really talking to me as I type this post. FYI... I went with the K&N 63-114 series intake and the Borla T-304 (agressive) exhaust with the 5" tips. My wallet prays those were good choices. From what I have read, seems like those that have made the same purchases have been happy. -Bob

Bob, I'm sure your choices will be great! Another thought - if you got the JET Stage 2 chip, it says they recommend a difference thermostat, but I, and others, didn't change from what is originally in the engine, and as far as I know, no one has had any problems. So, I would try it first to make sure it doesn't run hot, but mine runs the same temp as it did before installing the chip. dave PS: How about some pics of your new ride!

Dave, Thanks for the input. I saw the recommendation about the 180 degree t-stat. I also saw some of the posts about not worrying about it so I will do as you say and take the wait and see attitude and definately keep an eye on the temp. I live in AZ so with 350 degree temps in August, it could be an issue :-) As for the pics.... they will come very soon. Waiting so I can show off those fat tips coming out the rear end! Would really like to upgrade the wheels too but it took 2 months of being a really good wifey just to get these goodies! Kidding. She loves the car too. Never saw anyone so happy to stop at a light or a stop sign... just so she stomp the pedal. lol Take Care! Bob
