Road and Track
It would appear that I underestimated the 2006 Z06
It's not often I say this but I belive its time for me to retire this dispute.
Congrats to my worthy advisary, devilish as he may be.

but seriously, I would rather have the raw Viper over the sleek Corvette anyday,
if I had the money for a viper, then I would have no problem dropping cash on a twin turbo setup.

For starters, DODGE THEMSELVES cant get a STOCK SRT-10 Viper to do an 11.6 1/4 mile.....so why dont you ask your customer what mods he has done on the car......and if it truly is stock.....get some slips....

right..and is your customer a professional driver, running in ideal conditions? because when those cars are tested, they are done so by a professional driver, in ideal conditions...

You got a ways to go, Im not stating that the Vipers Official time should be 11.6 But It is an 11 second care PERIOD none the less.

The First stock Viper to enter the 11s was the 97 GTS.

You think Chrysler cant do what? LOL ..... You have no Idea.

EXACTLY I am In a ‘Dry ‘Cold ‘Climate with a huge drag racing scene so I guess I have a major advantage. Hes an Avid Racer, thats why he has a few Vipers, and has been a Mopar Enthusiast his life.

But that doesn’t matter, If people would think before they speak, that would stop making so many assumptions.

For starters, I said DODGE cant get the SRT-10 to do an 11.6 1/4 mile STOCK. I didnt say anything about a damn GTS. Those were different cars and different setups.

Also, STOCK means straight out the gate from the factory.....not some mild aftermarket swap outs like exhaust, headers, etc....

If some of the best drivers on the planet cant get it to do it.....how's your buddy?

Ive been watching this little debate for a while now, and have finally gotten fed up enough to make a post so here goes, as far as the viper running 11 seconds stock it does and even has in motor trend magazine. I'll even send you the link. Also the performance numbers put out by chrysler are not the fastest attainable times by the vehicle but times that anyone should be able to attain. Take a look at the link.

You do of course realize that DODGE's own sites list it as low 12's as the fastest they could get the car to go STOCK? Besides, do you always believe magazines? I'll believe a site before Motor Quacks and Car & Dumbasses....

And even if they did get them into the 11's....your talking PERFECT conditions.....professional drivers......and a PERFECT track.....and considering everything most of us has been able to find on the current gen SRT-10 has shown nothing but 12's in 1/4 mile.....I'm gonna believe that over ONE article.

Absolutely 402,

And that test article really shows how Dominant the Viper is. Not only is it a 3 year older design than the GT, but it has a higher gear ratio. The Vipers platform is absolutely DOMINANT When it comes to not only Quality, but complete performance leverage and cost effectiveness in the American Super-Car class.

AMAZING this car hasn’t been touched in it 1/3 decade of design. One could only imagine the pure superiority of this car if Chrysler were to upgrade it every year.

Im sorry Devils Reject, but Chrysler also says the 2005 SRT-10 Ram RC has a ¼ mile time of 13.8. when some drivers have been as lucky as getting 12.7. BONE STOCK. Chryslers has underrated their vehicles since the early 60s.

Do you think the 6.1 Hemi has only 425HP @6K?

Provide more then words.....show slips....and then I'll be more then happy to reverse my opinion....but considering one magazine vs. the various mags/sites we've posted on it....well...thats just gonna be our disagreement.

Also, since they have to state the HP now on the car...yes...its 425hp.....is it really capable of a lot more....of course....
