Default 2000-2004 MOPAR roof rack fits 05-06

I installed it today on my 06. It was the same model MOPAR unit I had on my 02 Dakota QC. I was concerned there would be issues with the factory sunroof I have on my 06, there were none. I have the crossbar back behind the sunroof just so when you look up you dont see it, but when it is anywhere over the glass, the sunroof will open in the "vent" (rear pivots upwards) position with no problems.

Looks real nice.

How was the installation?

I have been looking at the Yakima. How does the price compare?

installation was very easy, even though I took my time. drilling holes in your roof can be a very un-settling experience. I think the retail price for the MOPAR racks is about $200.00. They are well made as I had the same kind on my 02 Dakota also. Nomadic I think is the actual maker of the rack as that is the name on the roof racks on my A.R.E. fiberglass cap, and the look and construction is almost identical.

yes and no. I kind of already knew that from comparing my 02 to an 06 side by side for about an hour that they had to be the same but had not gone as far to compare actual roof part numbers. I knew it would work, even with the sunroof, but the dealer service dept was too hesistant the screws and pop rivets that hold it in place would interfer with the sunroof mechanisms.

I'm just happy my thoughts were correct and that it would work just fine, hopefully someone can benefit from this.
