smoke from engine help please - 2/3/2006 8:40:57 PM    xxelfxx   Posts: 37 Joined: 1/24/2006 Status: offline I start my truck up drive it down the alley come back and smell somethin shut it off open the hood and its smokin from I thin behind the block by the firewall but couldn't tell where I just recently flushed the engine coolant and changed it and added a quart of oil and it smells a little and I'm not sure wat it is please help thanks. RE: smoke from engine help please - 2/3/2006 11:08:18 PM    kdh97602 Posts: 149 Joined: 9/17/2005 From: LA, CA Status: offline what does it smell like? sweet=coolant tar, rubber=electrical rotten eggs= cat also what color is the smoke black=oil white=coolant any other color=electrical but these are just guidelines, it could smoke white and be oil, or be sweet and be an electrical porblem; but this may help you to troubleshoot _____________________________ I see fords; and, as usual, they're all broken 98 Dakota 125k miles 3.9 V6 2wd throttle body spacer, k&n, 3" exhaust, 3" cat, 50mm throttle body, mogg greasable ball joints, batt cables by Lincoln Electric, 20mpg (most of the time) (in reply to xxelfxx) Post #: 2
