I just looked at the window sticker of a 2006 Charger SRT8 and could not make the options add up to the sticker price... until I noticed $2100 Gas Guzzler Tax is added. I also noticed that both Chargers are assembled in Canada with A Mexican motor and a German transmission. I am glad my Daytona did not have the GG tax, yet another good reason to select it over the SRT8.

Hmm now if we could only get a German motor....

Would it help if they offered the T-56 Tremec as an option? The A580 transmission has a .83 as their overdrive vs. the T-56 offers .50 as their top overdrive. What if they used the 545RFE? The top overdrive on that one is a .67.

Why do you want a German motor? They cost more and don't always offer more power. The only German motor I would like would be the 3.2L turbo-Diesel. It competes with some of their V8s while getting outstanding fuel mileage.

Oh, I don't know... A German motor would look great, just look at a BMW. They have shiny silver paint on the block (that blisters and peels within 20K miles, but only on one side). Cool looking cam covers with company logos. But the best part is that you can tell people that your overpriced engine parts are backordered to Stuttgart.

Well if that is what you value, then you should probably buy a Mercedes or BMW. They aren't worth the extra money. Plus, I think being able to say that you have a HEMI is impressive in its self.
