Default Challenger Gas Cap?

Any word on what type or where the gas cap will be located? My 1971 had the chrome quick fill style and my 1972 had the painted one flush with the body. Where and what style will my 2008 Challenger have?

LOL. It would be nice if it ran on solar.

Most likely it will be a Viper style flip cover.

pretty sure the cudas had the filler cap behind the liscence plate- but i dont know if they would still be able to do that w/ all the rules and regulations on todays vehicles

i think that youre right..it never dawned on me before that they were hidden caps on the cudas, especially since the challenger had the "race caps"

When I asked at the auto show they did say it was behind the license plate.

No Flip top gas cap. The official annoucement before Detroit show was that the flip top gas cap was one of the items that did NOT makes the cut for the concept. They said they wanted clean lines, no side faux air duct, ala '73s either, nor side stripes. Buy hey, if they build this thing you know the aftermarket will take care of that.

They also said the "neon taillights" won't make it to production either...too expensive.

I'm more worried the functional air scoops will bite the dust before production as well.

I did see in Car & Driver that they did mention the 6.4 (392) version @ 500hp as "possible"...perhaps SRT8 version as we've rumored here before.

I have always loved the flip cap like the Chargers and Challengers had, but I also love the smooth look the behind the plate gas cap has just like my Roadrunner, no ugly door.

how would it be behind the license plate? its so low, that the filler tube would have to basically consist of a gas cap, and a tank, as it would be entering from the side of the tank...youd have to almost kneel to put gas in it...i would have to think that the concept just has a cell...
