Default Most hp for a CAI for Magnum!?

I been poking around looking at prices and performance figures vs aesthetics of the new CAI systems for the Magnum/300c/charger.
Most of them boast 10-15hp, one was 18, one was 19 and K&N has one 21.8hp(in 3rd gear at 5000rpm) for $199 bucks, it has a twisted plastic tube between TB and filter. Anyone have any real experience with CAI in the Magnum? Reccomendations? Any opinions?
thanks

Yeah the K&N your talking about is illegal for street use in California only, so you know it has to be good!
Yeah that one is the 63 Series Intake and AirCharger Intake Kit, which they say will give you 21.09hp @ 5216RPM.
The only problem with these claims is you dont know what other supporting mods are on the vehicle that they conveniantly dont mention.
Anyway, as i said, this one probably gives you the most increase just b/c theymust be using something in it or else it wouldnt be illegal in California!! LOL

With the Hemi and the current PCM, they give you zippo in the performance area. One forum did A TON of actual testing and dyno etc..not a single one of the current market CAI's did 1 hp increase. It is because the PCM in the car "learns" and changes the air'ful mixture to keep the valuse the same. Now that companies are starting to bring programmers to market(first is SuperChips in two weeks) we are hoping that we can FINALLY see some gains for the dollars invested..

I installed a K&N 63 Series Air Charger a couple of weeks after I bought my 05 Magnum RT RWD. There was a very noticible difference in pick-up (and sound).
I'm happy with it.
I'm waiting on the new programmer to come out (mid-Feb) for the next mod.

no warranty issues, if the CAI is legal(not the K&N 63), and 20 minutes to replace to stock if any doubts...

I have a 360 Intakez system on my car, they are no longer being made.

Not sure if it gives me any more power, but the sound is awesome.

Especially at full throttle.

I'm in VA, so there's no issues with the 63. However, like Joemagnum said, it only takes a short time to replace the original air filter system...
Mine is in the box my K&N arrived in.

I have a 2006 Hemi Magnum, I have K&N air intake and a Tornado. The Tornado was on Two Guys Garage. they said it works well. They wern't kidding. It works great. Go to www.Tornadoair.com. I bought mine at Pep-Boys for $69. Also on the Magnum between the front nose of the car and the transmission cooler there is a black plastic shield. I removed it because it prevents cool air getting to the CAI filter. It made a huge fifference in performance. I would suggest protecting the rubber trans hose to prevent anything from putting a hole in it. I used a larger hose and placed it over the original.

Sorry but there is no way I would waste 70 bucks for a fake tornado thing...I mean come on, exactly what can they add??? The 5.7 already has a very well tuned intake....
