As for me, I own a 2006 Vista Blue Mustanf and will be purchasing a Black RAM 1500.  I love to get out in the driveway and wash my vehicles.  It is like therapy to me and when I am done it looks gorgeous.  I too live in Texas and they are right, it is hot when you get in it but worth all the looks they get when it is clean.

I think no matter what color you go with, it is a personal choice and you should be happy with whatever color you go with, it is yours.

Before I ordered my truck, I thought it would be bad ass. Black looks awesome when it is clean. Now, 3 months later, I still like it when it is clean, but it has been raining alot here lately in Central Texas. I washed it on sunday, and it rained monday, and I never drove it. After it dried, IT HAD DIRT ALL OVER IT! I was pissed. Damn Rain. Plus, I love off roading, so that doesnt really help. I have clear coat scratches that I cant get out. Also, I get of the Army in 2 1/2 years, so I will be back home in Arizona after that. That is really gonna suck. I am gonna have to get it painted a different color before then. Dirt 24/7 and 120F in the summer. I hate to see if after I get back from my next deployment from my lazy dad driving it. I doubt it will ever get washed.

Nothing looks nicer and tougher than a black truck.  Everyone looks at a black car or truck.  White just blends in with the rest of the cars on the road and is boring.  Silver cars don't show the dirt as much but don't stand out either.
Go for black!!!

I use Basic H from Shaklee, a kind of soap and a real chamois.  Then I use one of those dusters.  Black is impossible to keep clean, but it does look good when it is.  My Yukon is Carbon Fiber grey.  Much easier to clean.

I will not buy another black vehicle...unless it is a good deal, or looks cool, or has low miles, or is new, well you know.

Very interesting read concerning color choices.  I love the look of a black truck and was thinking that my next one would be black with almost everything blacked out (rims, windows, tail lights, etc..)  but after reading comments from current owners, i am feeling good about my choice to get a dark gray truck.  Thanks for the heads up on this issue!

Ive had two black trucks and I must say it gets pretty dusty around here around the crops. If you use a good wax the dust and dirt doesn't really stick to the paint that well. Klasse polish and Zaino waxes. I put 1 coat of klasse, and 3 coats of Zaino on and it lasts almost a whole year. Thats taking for granted I use zaino spray wax after each wash. Hell you hardly have to dry your truck after each wash- just runs right off.

lol i would buy another black truck again, but gosh damn you have to have the damn time to clean it !! and yes just like everybody else every ding, scratch , chip is accounted for !! especially with my truck being all black, i swear one little chip is like a big damn accident!!! i have to clean or at least rinse it every other day!!!!! im in colorado, so we get snow ,rain , windstorms etc. every day , different weather!!! but in the end it is an head turner when its clean!!! so i would have to say...black   ...is worth it!

The ultimate color for not giving a crap is the tan or almond colors.

I never wash my truck. Just look at the window!
