Interior is awesome IMO... Maybe it's because I've grown up with only domestic cars? I don't know but I think it looks very cool.

I got my 05 Nov 1 and haven't had any problems yet, about 5900 miles as of today. Don't really get what you're asking about loud... The engine/exhaust? It's kind of loud. It's about perfect for a stock performance type car...

Burning off the tires is purely related to the driver. You do burn outs, the tires are going to wear much faster than if you don't.

I'm 22, this is my first manual transmission. I drove one once before, I've never had any instruction on how to drive one, I just kind of knew how to do it. With that said I think it's a VERY easy car to drive. When I test drove one it had been like 3 years since the one time I drove a stick and I did it perfect, no stall no studder. I will admit to a few stalls in the first two days I owned it but really I found it easy to drive.

The car feels great... Not the easiest thing to describe... Best idea is to test drive one, thats how I made the desicion to buy one instantly.

Most dealers won't let you test drive one, I've heard of a lot of accidents when potential customers got carried away with the car's performance and didn't know how to handle it.......

It IS a SWEET RIDE!!!!!!!!!!!

I would say it is very easy to learn how to drive stick on. I taught my fiance, someone with no coordination, she learned quick with this car because there is enough torque and hp to take off without applying gas. The car is a little loud, but it is a good sound of the motor/turbo/exhaust. It sounds and feels like a sports car. The only thing I dont like is the fact that the rear windows are manual, but I have long arms so I can reach the cranks. This is my first sports car, besides a v6 firebird, which dont count, it is a great car.

If the noise bothers you too much, there's always Dynamat.

I've read this a few times now it's funny because the first time I test drove one the salesman let me take it out with my brother by ourselves lol... Then when I bought one from the same dealer 3 days later (different salesman) he asked if I've driven one before because they don't usually let people test drive them!

I want an SRT-4 because:
[ ] A) I like a car that's exciting to drive;
[ ] B) I like a car that won't spill my latte;
[ ] C) I'm a showoff and it'll help me get attention.

If you picked A, you'll love it.
If you chose B, you'd be better off in a car designed more for snob appeal.
If you went for C, well, you'll end up using it to show everyone how cool you are -- and you'll be dead soon.

I'm only half joking, BTW.

The interior is fine; it's basic, but so what? I guarantee you that I have never once gotten into my car, looked around, and bemoaned its lack of interior refinement.

The exhaust note is a little loud, but so what? If you don't find it exhilirating in some primeval man-and-beast-as-one sort of way, reconsider B above.

It's very easy to learn how to drive stick with, as long as you keep your foot off the accelerator. The transmission is notchy and sometimes balky when it's cold, but those things you get used to.

Speaking of that accelerator thing, make no mistake that despite its being called "just a Neon", it is a high-performance car; and you must appreciate that if you're not sensible you can get in over your head in the blink of an eye. Think of it this way: you can go 0-100 MPH in the time it takes for most people to get in their car, start it, put on their seat belt, and engage D or R. It's not a joke.

All that said, try hard to find somewhere to test drive one, even a used one. You'll know very quickly if it's what you want.

Good luck.

Hey, I have had my SRT-4 for a couple of months. It is the easiest car to drive that I have ever had. It is very light, and very, very fast. It does have the capacity to burn out your tires, if you run hard on it. The clutch is very easy to operate...you dont have to push it all the way down to shift...and the interior is not that bad. I am over 200lbs, but I find that I have room to move around, and the seats are very comfy and hold you well. The engine is not noticably loud, unless you are gunning it, and then it is as loud as you want it to be!
I have owned tons of cars in my day. Some were tuned, some were not. This is the best you can get in this price-range. Yeah, its a neon, and people will rag on it. But its my neon on crack, and I have beat out porsches in it...I LOVE IT!

For the money you spend, you won't get more bang for the buck unless you meet up with a very talented hooker.......(not that I ever have.....)
