Default Durango ball joints

has anyone here had a situation like this, I'm wondering if I can do anything about this:

I owned a durango, I replaced all ball joints prior to the recall, I then sold the durango, then along came the recall. I contacted DC via e-mail from their website to see if I could be re-imbursed. NO NO NO was all they could say, in spite of the fact that I have the old parts and the reciepts for everything. They claimed the reason is because I no longer own the vehicle. Should I try contacting a dealer? If anyone else has had this situation please let me know how you made out.
