Although there is an EPS off button on my dash when I depress it nothing happens. The manual says that the EPS light should come on to show that it is disabled, yet it does not. Does anyone have any ideas? I tried beating on the dash with 24" crescent wrench but it did not help either...(not really)

even when the light comes on it not off. it will spin the tires till it hits second gear then it falls dead on its face tuners shoud be out soon taken care of this issue .What they will do is bypass the esp by re programming you stock computer.

Oops, my bad...

Apparently the indication light was obscured by a spoke of the steering wheel...

The verdict was that it works fine. The button does not require being held. It was simply a matter of not seeing the indicator that shows that the ESP system is on bypass. The indicator was behind a spoke of the steering wheel so that I could not see it turning on and off.

It does seem to launch a little better with the additional wheelspin. I am waiting to get my G-Tech back from my buddy to get some accellereation times.

Check out the G-tech if you have never used one...

Even with the switch turned off, The esp is not 100% off due to federal regulations, Its a failsafe. I have never heard anyone being successful in reprograming the ABS module. I would really hesitate because if that module goes down, the car will get stuck in gear and wont have throttle responce due to the electronic throttle and trans controller all realy on the ABS for wheel speed.

there are 3 settings to the esp, on, semi on, and the off
when you just push the button and the light comes on thats semi off, when you hold the button down for 5 sec a display will come on the info screen that the esp is off, also the car needs to be stopped or rolling very slowly for it to go into full off mode

you seem to be correct ... i could not disable the ESP on the Rental Charger RT by holding the button for 5 or 6 seconds...it still kicked in while doing a donut... have not tried to disable on the magnum yet, forgot to..but will try tomorrow and report...my feeling is it won't work

I called the guy and spoke with him its a really easy install it cost 199.99 he says they are shipping them out left and right .He told me they have 2 srt8's and they are easily disabled in those cars.I would wait and see what the tuners offer cause they should eliminate the traction control.I guess what I am saying you may be out 200 bucks if you buy this switch and new tuner.I am going to wait and see what the tuners have to offer before I buy either one of them tuners will offer more than the switch. It just tells the ecu that the fan is on dont look for it and you wont get that .0002 of a sec delay before it shifts. You know the one that you can tell power is beign robbed?I can tell it bogs down when shifting . I hope I helped any of you out .

As stated above, hitting the button on the dash in anything other than an SRT-8 still leaves the system on at about 80%. No matter how long you hold the button, cross your eyes, sprinkle fairy dust on your dash, it is still going to be slightly on.

You can, however, disable it completely on all Chargers (and Magnums and 300s as well) by popping your hood and removing fuse #17. This will also take our your ABS I believe, so please only do it at the track.
