CAIs and Exhausts

I'm just getting my new truck broken in (6K) and am looking for some upgrade recommendations.
My buddy is big on the AirForceOne CAIs and got me a good deal on one. I recently installed it (took about 20 minutes) and on the surface I appear to be getting about a 2+ mpg improvement, a real sweet sound and some seat of the pants power increase. I'm looking for an outside opinion on this system.
My next upgrade is gonna probably be an aftermarket exhaust. I was wondering what has been doing the job and what to avoid.
I figure this is a good start with more plans in the future...
