Default DUB Air Intake

I just got done reading some text on the DUB air intake for the magnum(was on E-BAY)
Has anyone ever heard of it and if so how is it? They claim 23-27 rear wheel Hp. by just changing the intake and no other mods. They also claim it is by far the best out there because of the materials and the way it seals in the engine bay. <---- Doesn't everybody
They want $390.00 total. Just looking for some input. Reason is I have talked to people who have told me the best intake for the car is the stock intake and someone on this site who was developing
an intake says there is no DECENT intake out there besides the stock.
Thanks for any info.

23-27 rwhp...LOL. Don't waste your money. If you just have to have an intake. Mopar, Volant, K&N. Way cheaper. Or a K&N drop in.

I know of no intake that provides 20hp in gains. I think the DUB intake is the best looking one on the market right now and the sound alone is worth the money. You will feel gains. Not more than 20hp though. I'd say less than 10. I'd be surprised if I got 20 from headers.

Your thoughts on the gains from a CAI are interesting. I recently read an article (think it was in MPH) about a Charger SRT-8 that the SRT team modded for a rally in Canada. They added a K&N CAI and a Corsa exhaust and were claiming approx 50hp gain. Think this was mostly from the exhuast, or does the SRT-8 benefit more from a CAI.

I ask because I am going to add a CAI to my SRT-8, and am also thinking about a cat-back (Zoomers). I will probably add the CAI first, and then decide if I want to add the cat-back. I have always had luck with K&N in the past, but I do like the look of the DUB....

I recently put a K&N drop in in the car and will prob. stick with that because the thought of spending 390.00 beans for a CAI is scary especially for no noticeable gain.

The power levels are not believeable, and the price is kinda high compared to other ones on the market. Magnum Fuel and Air Parts The AEM is what gets the best feedback, and what I would pick personally if I was installing one.

Well there's lots of debate on the HP gain issue regarding CAI's. I took all that with a grain of salt when I went shopping. At worst, I figured no HP. I was after the trick look and the sound.

I researched all of them and bought the DUBair unit. Yeah it's a few more bucks but it's a way slicker assembly. FYI - I bought mine at autotoyaz.com for $329. Here's why I think it's a better unit:
Build Quality. Everything is stainless steel or silicone.
Filter Element. It's physically larger than any of the others. The wire screen is all SS. The funnel ram design is significantly different from any of the others - check it out.
Air Box. This is the best part. This unit has a complete, 4-sided, air box that mates to the bottom half of the CAI and, when the hood is closed, the underside of the hood. I believe it does the best job at keeping hot air out of the system and constant flow of outside air.
Sound. This is one where it kills the others. Due to the design of the box you don't get any hint of hissing. Under throttle it's simply an awsome sound and at WOT it sounds like a set of dual 4's from THE DAY.

My subjective opinion is that I'll never know for certain any HP gains because I'll probably never get it on a dyno. But, and this always causes as stir on these forums, the throttle response is better and the power curve feels smoother - especially on the bottom end. Like I said - subjective. I can't measure nor can a dyno.

Check out the material at racingsportsakimoto.com.

I installed mine last night, and am quite happy with it. My comments parallel those above, including where I bought it and the price I paid.

I would agree, that it is best at WOT. That is where the growl is most menacing.

I was thinking about adding a Zoomers cat-back, but I'm not sure if it needs it now!!!

I should've added on my original post I'm also running a complete Magnaflow exhaust system so that's a good bit to the sound quality. The Magnaflows were pretty nice before but now, with the DUBair intake the whole system sounds like a true muscle car now. The best part is at cruise around town or on the highway in "D" it's an easy-to-live rumble that won't drive you nuts on long trip or if you're trying to talk to someone.

But drop it down into second gear around town and the sound is absolutely brutal! I had more than a few guys ask me what engine I had or what I did to the engine in just the first few days after installing the DUBair intake - it made that kind of difference.

Also, the DUBair unit is all polished SS. At first I was concerned about all the bling-bling but ordered anyway. Part of me was saying well, I can always get it beadblasted. But, once installed it looks really nice and I couldn't be happier. If they had a matte finish option I might have ordered it that way. But seeing it on the car in all its polished glory I couldn't be happier.

Last item, really do check out the design of their funnel ram. It's completely different from all the others. Is it any better? Will give you the 20 ponies extra? Who knows but it does show extra thought went into its design and that's always nice to see - not just another me too product.

Good luck all.
