If I still had my '88 Shelby Z I would definately be interested, but I had to let it go. I always wanted to convert it to RWD and drop a V8 in it.

nice roadrunner! i always wanted a 68 to 69 road runner almost got a 70 gtx but money was tight. nothin like good old fashion muscle! yeah the daytona is still such a stylish car. i definatly think if chrysler had produced a v8 rwd daytona ..then.let carol shelby get ahold of it it would still be in production today and probably one of the most sought after cars of all time!

No argument. I always loved the Shelby Z, Shelby, Iroc and Iroc R/T Daytona's, the Turbo Z's are not too bad either. They would have definately been legendary if they had V8's and were RWD, but they still pretty much are thanks to the 2.2L turbo II's and turbo III's. I almost had a '69 GTX 440 4-spd. for only $4,500 and all it needed was paint. It had new quarters, new door panels, new dash pad, new exhaust with headers and was in primer just waiting for the paint to finish it off, but I didn't have the $$$$.

yeah! it always seems to happen that way you find all the really good deals on them when you dont have the$$$, but when you do have the $$$ theyre either mint cond 25xxx or over or are nowhere to be found. well i do have to say the turbo II did get me through some pretty nice races. from 5.os to iroc cammaros man thinking back those car i could beat by two to three car lenghts with just a homade ram/cold air intake system. fwd turbo dodges are just a force to be rekond with. most peolple think they are outdated but when you smoke a ss or a cobra with just bolt ons and a simple boost bleed, huh not so out dated now!!! you wouldnt happen to know what movie it was that had tommy lee jones in it and he drove around an old turbo z, well it wasent old at the time , but it was called mercury rising or blue moon rising or something like that any way it had a pretty good chase seen with the turbo z sliding around corners and burn outs n stuff , also one of the cannonball runs had franlk senatra drivend a turbo z passing a vett. and then we all know about the wraith!!! awsome movie.

did you have to redo the the trans tunnel for the new hemi or when you first did the the swap to a v8?

i only ask cuase i have another daytona join the one i have and i am really wanting to do the swap to a v8 in one of them. how much would you charge to make one? i could make one myself if could just get some blue prints to go off of. i would still be willing to pay something for even that.

just a note over this summer i am going to work on making summer fiberglass fender and hoods maybe a few other things. no need to worry i am not going to be doing anything to change the look of the car just simple shed a couple of pounds i will keep you guys up to date on my progress.
