I'm wanting to convert to LED lights for my tail lights and turn signals, front and back. I read up on a LED light manufacturer that some newer cars need load resistors or the turn signal system will indicate a burned out light by flashing fast, not flashing at all, or turning on some warning light. I wanted to know if anyone knew if a load resistor is require for the Dakota 05 or not.

jimboscomp, I think what GemmySan is referring to is replacing the whole thing with an LED panel/wafer and wiring it in directly.

What Disgorilla used , if i am correct, is just an LED cluster attached to an 1157 socket. This should not cause any problems. However if his intent is to replace the 1157 socket and wire the LED panel directly into his harness, he may have to purchase a load resistor as the load on a LED is very low.
