Default Advice Dodge Dakota

First of all, i would like to say hello to everybody here, i'm new at the forum.

Now here's the problem.
I have a Dodge Dakota 98/ 3.9L/V6. Recently there been a problem when i'm driving around it suddenly start strudeling like its going out of gas, but after a few fast accelerations pumping it gets back on track (driving). and when ever it happens again, i repeat the same method and it gets back to work. I have talked to a few mechanics and they say that if itsa low on fuel the pump over heats and that causes the problem. could it also be the fuel sensor if it has any. i already try adding fuel aditives to clean, but it is always the same thing. I'm going these week to a place where they make computer analysis to check the electrical system (sensors).[sm=smiley23.gif]

Hey thanks for your answer.

Well i don't think there might be something in the tank or water. Its made of plastic (The Tank) no corrotion material could be bodering. I don't know where the filter is i guess its inside the tank, so i will have to take it apart to be able to see in side. What about sensors could they be making it happen. i only use Unleaded gasoline.

Thanks again for your Sudjestion[sm=smiley20.gif]

We have a truck at work that had a similar problem and it turned out to be the fuel pressure regulator.

Got my truck back, they did clean the entire EFI system, problem was it was dirty and thats what made the problem explain above.
The only problem is that when i gave them the truck the Check engine light didn't turn on at that time, so today when i went for it.
They told me that the only way to hook up the comp the light had to be on. Buy that time it was not on.

The lucky thing was that today before i left the shop the light turn on[sm=smiley16.gif] they hook it up, reset the comp all was well.

[sm=smiley15.gif][sm=smiley35.gif] Now the light is on again.

And they say for that i will have to pay, cause its a different thing[sm=smiley35.gif][sm=smiley7.gif] then for what i took it[sm=smiley35.gif][sm=smiley21.gif]

The good thing the oder problem seems its gone, will see in few days of using.[sm=rolleyes.gif]

The truck is working fine.
I even made a air flow intake adjustment to improve performance.

But the check engine light still on. The mechanic hook up the PC and notice a large increase in the oxygen sensor in the muffler.
A few years ago i took off the catalyser to improve performance, seems over here no one care about the enviorment, but
thats why the light still on the sensor detects that. so now i will have to take the bulb off to vanish that.

Riskey but what can i do
