Default 2005 Courtesy Lights

Hey! I own a 2005 Dakota Quadcab laramie V8

I wanted to change the interior lighting to a cool blue color instead of having those off-white colored lights. Well I changed the rear interior light successfully, but the two courtesy lights that are in the same console as the compass and trip computer are bugging me. I saw a screw tha tlooked like it held on the fixture but all it did was loosen up the console a little, and I'm afraid to pull on it too hard since it's a brand new truck (my first truck at that!). Does anyone here know how to change the 2 courtesy lights in the overhead console in my kind of truck?? ANY HELP WOULD BE FANTASTIC! THANK YOU!

Jimmy

Yeah I was worried about the same thing.

Undo the screw & then just pull straight down....there are 2 metal clips that hold the console up there.

Thats good to know. The overhead light(s) in every vehicle I've ever owned like to burn out. One side in the Ranger I traded in on the dak burned out. Couldn't get the cover off so never replaced it. Same as you-didn't want to break it.
