Default WATER LEAK

I just bought a 2005 Dakota and during the first rain storm I discovered I have a leak! Water comes into the cab through the top plug in the driver's side hand grasp. I took it back to the dealer and supposedly it got fixed but guess what? I have a friend with the same problem. His dealer admitted to not being able to find the problem. Has anybody else had this happen? I hate to think that water is gathering somewhere and will rust through in a short time. Thanks

Default RE: WATER LEAK

Look for my posts on the same subject.

Mine leaks through the access caps in the driver's hand hold, out of the liner on the driver's side, out of the seam half way up the driver's door, and somewhere on the passenger side. I have not been able to find the passenger drip, but it is under the dash and makes a big puddle on the floor.

The truck has been in 3 times, and I have filed with the State's Lemon Law. Dodge is sending a "specialist" next month to try one last time to fix it.

I don't want it fixed, I want my money back. Who knows what damage the water in the liner, molding, and dash is doing, and when will it show up.

Just last week my airbag malfunction light came on for over an hour, were the electronics damaged by water?

The truck also clearly has warped rotors and vibrates like crazy sometimes with mild to strong braking. The dealer alternately says the don't feel it, or that it is the ABS. Maybe it didn't do it for them, but trying to make me believe that I would feel vibrations from the ABS is insulting.

On top of this my other Dodge, a Neon, just finished its third trip in a year for AC work. I now have spent about 20% of the car's cost to repair the AC.

I will never buy a Dodge again.

When they fail to repair the truck this time, and the arbitrator ask me what do I want to do, the answer will be - get my money back so I can buy a Toyota.

I never noticed that problem, but did notice that water may leak in through the top of the truck and into the door because of the huge gaps. That sucks.
