Default Escalade,Navigator, Where is DC in the era of luxury SUVs?

Well, Cadilac has their escalade, and Lincoln has the Naviagtor. So where is Daimler Chrysler on this? I know that they have the pacifica, but that is not in this market of SUV. Has there been any disscussion or rumors of this style Chrysler SUV? And if it hasn't, what do you think would be better for a luxury chrysler suv? Durango or Comander? If you ask me, this would make sales even higher for DC.

I think the Commander would make for a better sale then the Durango....however, I think DCX has more then enough SUV's in their lineup...

Why should DCX follow GM and Ford down the tank? Luxury SUVs to me make absolutely no sense. Sure people buy them, but not enough in volume to justify their R&D. Last time I looked Luxury SUV sales have slumped quite a bit. DCX sales are holding, but only due to the Hemi.

Im in 100% agreement. If chrysler is smart they wont bother with a declining business.

I think that Chrysler saw this dying market before it actually started to decline. That is why their was never a SUV based off of the Ram. Besides even if it wasn't a dying market it would not be profitable for Chrysler b/c of their wide varity of smaller SUVs. The Liberity, Commander and Durango have plenty of luxtury in them for me.

I think the whole SUV market in particular is over done....I would rather buy an Escalade over any other SUV.....but...at the same token, it all would depend on whether it was a street vehicle or an offroad vehicle.....whether it was comfortable etc etc

I think the only reason DCX never got involved in this was because they already had such a dominant market on the trucks....plus they had the Ramcharger outside the USA...

Want a luxury DCX SUV, get a Durango Limited or a new Commander. We don't need more SUV's just sitting on lots. And we sure don't need to waste millions of bucks on making one.

I wouldnt have an escalade over a ford econoline. If i'm paying that kind of jack for a cadillac, i want a cadillac motor, not a chevy vortec. It better say northstar, have close to 400hp and get mpg in the mid 20s. escalade is code for "tahoe with cadillac emblems"
