Default dodge trucks

I am new to all of this sort of stuff, so bear with me, My name is Jim and my wife's name is Kathy
and we live on a small family farm in north central North Dakota
we have owned two previous dodge 1500 4x4, one was a 1994 model reg. cab, and the newest one
is a 1999 quad cab , and before that I owned a 1968 dodge charger that I put a 383 motor in.
We are presently looking to upgrade to a 2004 2500 with the cummins diesel for the farm, sounds like the diesel is worth the investment
cummins motors are the best, I have one in a Versatile 4wd tractor it's the 903 V-8 best thing since slced bread!.
So any information on "04 dodge diesels would be greatly appreciated.

Sincerely
Jim & Kathy McCormack

We'll all try to help you the best we can! What particular questions do you have about the cummins? Those motors are just about indestructable, I think they're worth every penny.

My Mom works for Bremer Ins. and my Dad works out at the Recycling Center by the Fairgrounds east of town there. For your needs I'd go with that purchase of the 2500..you won't be let down. That thing will still be going strong for years and years!! Well you guys take care I wish you all the luck and have fun! Next time I'm up we can meet up at Behm's Truck Stop and swap stories?

Welcome to DF. This is the place to come for getting ideas, checking out other peoples rides, asking questions and sharing knowledge. Lots of good people here. Glad to have you aboard.

You will find plenty of info on the Cummins here and folks who love them. Again, welcome to you and your wife.

Hey welcome!! For some info on the cummins diesel. My dad bought a 2500 ram regular cab 2wd manuel with a cummins diesel. He has drivne it across country numerous times along with a 28 foot boat and camper on the bed. Plus many 1 dayer trips to the lake and related areas. To this day he has not had 1 singel engine related problem. Actully i tihnck the only real problem he had was the rear end had to be rebuilt 2 the 2nd time was because the 1st time they didnt rebuild it right and he was finding metal chips in his rear end 2 months later. But since then not a probelm. Plus personaly i thinck the cummins sounds like a dream oh ya i belive it has 150k miles on it as off now. Good luck with your decsion.
