Default wont idle

My 87 250 decieded not to stay running at idle last week right after i registered it for the first time. The fuel lines looked bad, and parts of them fell out, so i replaced them and the fuel filter. It is still doing the same thing. If I floor it it will run, but as soon as I let up it will shut off at an un predictable time. (within 10 seconds). There was a vacume? line that ran into the carb that had a small crack so i replaced that, which solved nothing.

Even while keepping my foot on the gas just enough to keep it running it will shut off as soon as i put it into gear which tells me it cant be an idle adjustment...

any ideas or suggestions as to what is wrong?
