625Hp Engine for 2007???
Chrysler has a majority ownership in a company called Ilmor. Ilmor produces V-10 racing engines for formula one and has been one of the instrumental forces in the design and building of the viper 8.3L V-10.
Recently they have begun producing boat engines and are now offering a NA 8.3L Viper block V-10 with an output of 625. The question is: why isn’t this engine, that is currently being mass produced and offered with a full warranty, being put in the coupe? Or is this the Gen IV surprise?

That's one of the concerns DC may face if they do use it. I'm not sure how polluting this thing is compared to the current 8.3 liter.

A 600+HP engine would only be cool if they put it in with none to minimal price increase. Minimal being less that 10%.... It has to stay under that magical 100K number.

That would by far draw the most people away from the Viper. The Vette would be left with nothing to compete against excluding the Boxter.
