First I have to say that if you step into the "Brand News, Concepts and Rumors" section of this forum, you'd know this already... This is a joint project between DaimlerChrysler and Mitsubishi, as was the Stealth/3000GT, Stratus/Eclipse, Caliber/Lancer, Galant/Sebring/Avenger and soon will be Caravan/New Mitsu mini-van... Secondly, DaimlerChrysler doesn't own 50% of Mitsubishi... They own about 14%, including all of the commercial truck division, Fuso. Also, they are actually in the process of selling the 14% back...

They have since sold most of it. They have a lot of history with Mitsu. My Stratus coupe is practially 90% Mitsubishi.
