I thought I saw a post somewhere where the problem was the rims.

ThreeFortyDuster at the Dakotatrucks.com was having the same problem. Turned out that it was the Steel rims that caused the vibration. Might want to have the dealership check into it.

I own a Charger now and I love it!!
I've got the chrome clad wheels. I am going to make them do a road force balance. Also will try to get them to check the balance of the wheels only, (no tire), they should not require weights with no tires on them.

Yep, that was where I saw it.

Case Closed!!!!![sm=groupwave.gif] Took it back to the dealer yesterday and found two of the four tires were out of round. They took the wheels and tires off another Dak off the lot and swapped them. It rides as smooth as silk now. No more turning my morning coffee into cappuccino, if you know what I mean.[sm=happy046.gif]
Glad they fixed your problem. Normally balancing weight are there for the rims not the tires. At least that is what I have been told in regards to motorcycle tires and rims.

hey whats goin on everyone? This is my first post. I have an 05 Dakota QC 3.7 4X4. I have about 2300 miles on mine. I am also having a rough ride lately. I have offroaded with it one time but nothing to cause it to drive like it has been. I have the steel rims and i just read what others were saying. I'll take mine in and see what they say.
I have an '05 Dakota 4 x 4 extended cab with steel wheels and 1500 miles on the clock. Vibration problem is worst at about 50 - 55mph. Just retrieved it from dealer after 3 days of tire balancing and Goodyear vs Chrysler on who was going to pay for new tires.
Of course none of the dealers carry the OEM tires so it's back to the dealer next week for tire replacement after ensuring it was a "tire problem" and not the wheels. I took the DAK to Goodyear myself prior to dealer who completely checked out the wheels and tires and the tire dealer said it's the wheels. So here we go!
