I find it funny that the Charger weigths alot more, is alot bigger, has a more powerful V6 and V8, but has roughly the same MPG as the mustang.

really?

Charger Source
Top speed : 130 mph(electronically limited)
0-60 mph : 5.3 sec.
0-¼ mile : 13.9 sec @ 102.0 mph

Mustang Source
Top speed (governor limited): 149 mph
60 mph: 5.2
Standing 1/4-mile: 13.8 sec @ 102 mph

lets see, so the mustang takes the charger 0-60 and 1/4 mile only by .1 of a sec. care to explain the spanking.

and im skeptical of C&Ds claims of a 14.2...there were 2 chargers at the national event, but they werent racing...they were too loaded down with groceries...
plus, the mustang actually has aftermarket reinforcement that wont take you broke, so it has far greater potential...

4-door sedan vs 2 door coupe... again not an even match. The Mustang is faster...

you must be pretty wealthy if you think gas isn't expensive. for me it def. is, ,esp. when you drive 80miles a day to work and back. and also gas is going back up, its 2.72 here.

i personally would pick the new charger compared to the new mustang. obviously ur not wanting performance if u want a v6 so why do u want these big beasts? i would def. pick a small sedan. maybe look into the srt4 it gets 30mpg lolz.

Matt gas is 2.50 and teh average person puts on 12000 miles a year. that at 18mpg equals $1666 a year. I'm paying on average $1850 a year for gas, so $1666 isn't bad. that $1850 a year for me is less then my year insurance. again gas is NOT expensive.

If gas is expensive, then why buy a car that gets 18mpg?

Because in the old school, we luv to go fast! Gas doesn't matter when u r really into your car or truck. Just the smell of burning rubber gets my goat. I luv it!! R.V.

Um... Post '98 Stang? The horsepower on the 94-04 models is terrible, especially those two engines.

3.8 V6 - 145-193 hp
SOHC 4.6 V8 - 215-260 hp
(consumer guide, by the way)

So unless you're talking about the Cobra, that generation of 'Stang was a rather disappointing car. I've driven a few myself and was rather disappointed. Also, reliability-wise, they're terrible. Most of the people I know that had them got rid of them, aside from a few college girls who got daddy to buy one for them.

The 2005 is a heck of a lot faster, I'll give it that... But I'd take a new Charger over a "Post '98 Mustang" any day.

Mustangs... bleh. Drive 5 or 6 miles in any direction on any road (in reasonably populated areas people, let's not get stupid with this) and you'll likely see half a dozen assholes driving mustangs. And talk about uncomfortable... I'm not a huge guy lol, bout 5 ft 10 in., but the stang's back seats had my head hitting the roof every time we hit a slight bump in the road... so unless you never intend to have more than two medium size ppl in the front and 2 midgets in the back... Just another thing to consider I think. Unless I'm a bit late with this post lol.
