Default Super Chargers

Hey I'm looin' at the Kenne Bell Super charger for the 5.7 Hemi. Can anyone tell me the negatives of having a super charger? how harsh are the on the engine?

Depending on the amount of boost, it can be hard on the engine. I remember reading about the kit for the 5.oL ford, and the article said that on that engine they expected the engine life to be cut in half. Now I'm not sure that applies to all engines the same. What gets the most abuse is the engine bearings, valve springs, and pistons due to the increased cylinder pressure and higher heat generation.
