I went into ford to ask to sit in or test drive a lightning and told him my problem with deciding between the f350diesel, the lightning or the srt-10. He then took me into his office and showed me this. And since i am planning on buying a truck in a year or so after i have moved into my house and paid off my remaining bills, i plan to buy a truck. He suggested i wait and buy this new lightning out of the box. It is supposed to put the lighting back ontop and ahead of the srt-10 with this new model. I think its looks cool and that intercooler with the 50 extra horse sounds pretty kick ass. what do you guys thinking of it?
That's actually old news. Ford put the next Lightning on hold with the "possiblilty" of an 07 or 08 production, but that may never happen...? If you are going to wait a year or so anyway, Ford may have more news then.
Yawn. This is like Nike versus Sketchers, where the Ram represent Nike and the Lightning is Sketchers. Sketchers are cheap, bulky and ugly while Nike's are hot, good looking, sporty and attractive.

they wont build it for at least 3 years. the svt sporttrac adrenaline might give the srt-10 a run for its money though. and ford cant make much with balls, they have to put a supercharger in it.

Oh boy, here we go again. Dissing the Lightning. Look folks. For the money, you cannot touch the Lightning. Looks is a matter of opinion. I like both vehicles but Nike and Sketchers comparrison, cmon. Your trucks are fast. With less than 500 dollars in mods, your cooked. I visit this board because I am a performance truck fan and most of the time like the posts on here but do you have anything to do besides bash a ford. the way a lot of you talk it is too far beneath you anyway.

This is what I was talking about in that other thread about brand loyalty to the point where it blinds people to reality and the facts. The truth is that Lightnings are stupid fast, have a ton of potential and are a very worthy opponent to the SRT-10. That concept looks good. It looks more like the old Lightning to me than the new F-150 body. How heavy is it? Sounds like you have time to wait and see how things shake out before you have to make a purchase decision. I personally prefer Mopars but can respect the choice to buy one of these Fords if they do end up manufacturing them. On the mods, the aftermarket has started responding to the SRT and there are a lot of choices and the prices are falling fast. However, I will admit that Ford is great in supporting the aftermarket and DCX sucks in that regard - at least as far as new cars and trucks are concerned. What I've read on the Adreneline is that it should run similar to or a little quicker than the SSR with the 390 hp engine but a lot of that info is still conjecture at this point. Whatever happens, the hp wars are good for all of us!

And I'm sure on your Lightning boards you guys have nothing but nice things to say about the SRT-10 Ram. I also didn't realize that for less than $500 you guys can kick our asses. DAMN, I wish I knew that before I bought my truck!!
