Default Problems with my tach

Hi, I'm new here and I have a 1992 Stealth twin turbo. My tach is not working and I tried to install another one taping the signal wire from the computer to the tach but I couldn't get it to work. I don't know if any of you guys have had the same problem, but I'd like to know if my computer is busted or something.

The ECU gets its tach signal from the PTU. It is the unit underneath the coil packs. That could be faulty, or the wire could be bad.

Thanks for the info thestealth, the wire coming from the ptu was broken, I fixed the plug and now the tach works. I"m planning to install a blowoff valve on my car and everywhere I've asked they tell me that the HKS is the better one, but I don't know if I have to make some mods in order to be able to install it. I looked at the greddy one and the installation looks a lot easier, but I don't know if the bov is as good as the hks.

The first mods I would look into if I were you is a real boost guage (the stock one is hooked up to the ECU and only guesses what the boost is) and a manual boost controller. With the boost guage and MBC you should be able to boost upto 12-16psi safely.

BOV I have heard good things about these BOV's.

Glad I could help with the tach issue.
