Default turbo questions...

so im working with this 87 TII daytona...
the seals are smoked, so we got a new turbo, and its wrong..the flange is the wrong pattern for the stock manifold..
so we then bought a used manifold and turbo, and were assured that the turbo was good, but im hesitant to do the work to install a used turbo, in case it is also bad.

my question, can i buy a manifold with the small flange pattern to replace the stock manifold?

for instance, a friend of mine has a few s20g turbos from hahn, and they also wont fit either, as they have the t3 flange, like the one i got...

any advice...its appreciated.

Default RE: turbo questions...

I had the same problem when I took my '88 Shelby Z's Turbo II turbo to a turbo and intercooler shop to have it rebuilt or replaced. I had to return the turbo twice to have the correct inlet/outlet swapped over from my original turbo. There's very few places that understand and know the difference between the intercooled and the non-intercooled turbos. Your best bet is to contact those that have a clue such as Forward Motion, they have anything you could need or want.
